The session started with a discussion about coordination. Coordination is the function of management that ensures that different departments and groups work in sync.
We also looked into interdependence. A detailed chart of the same is given below.
We also discussed a small case about how managers can get their bosses to loosen up some control to give employees some freedom to work on their own.
Next, we started with the concept of staffing. Staffing is the process of finding the right worker with appropriate qualifications or experience and recruiting them to fill a job position or role. Staffing is a fundamental function of management. It plays an important role in the organisation as it ensures that the right people are chosen for the job according to their skills and helps in maintaining a satisfied and satisfactory workforce. It also improves the quality and quantity of work done by the company because they have staffed the optimum people. We discussed the meaning of the term 'sitting on the bench.'
